First and foremost, I thank the Almighty God for bringing us together through our Professional Association - The Medical Clinical Officers Professionals - Uganda (MCOP - U). This unity has helped us to reach this far & achieve great milestones, as a Profession. Additionally, it is evident that through unity, persistence & solidarity, our Profession is destined for greatness and excellence. I therefore encourage & call upon all MCOs to subscribe to our association (MCOP- U) because unity is strength.

I am therefore greatly honored to warmly welcome all Medical Clinical Officers (Both Diploma and Degree Holders including Specialists) across the country and abroad, to this great platform. The Clinical Medicine Profession and the Medical Clinical Officers in Uganda have for long lacked a common digital platform where we could easily access and/or share our great Professional history, evolution, values, challenges and milestones attained over our last 100 years of existence in Uganda. Some of the key milestones include; the addition of Community Health to Clinical Medicine in 1996, independent Clinical Practice, introduction of CPDs and getting a straight/vertical Career path, through the introduction of (Bachelor of Clinical Medicine and Community Health BCMCH) degree program among others. This has opened up many opportunities for our professionals to study & work abroad thereby improving our professional value and quality health care to the communities. We are as well in touch with our Sister Associations under Allied Health Professional Council (Alliance), Coordinating with Clinical Officers and Physician Analogs at neighbor in the East African Community and beyond through GACOPA and World AMTC Network, to realize Common standards of MCO training and practice across the region and world (WHO) at large.
